The LQB asphalt insulated pump is designed for transferring non-corrosive media that contain no solid particles and may solidify at normal temperature. It is especially suitable for outdoor installation in cold regions and process systems where the transferred medium needs to be heated or insulated.

The pump is suitable for media temperatures up to 250°C and viscosity from 5 to 1500 cSt. Typical media include heavy oil, asphalt, adhesive materials, resin, detergent, and similar liquids.

Structure & Working Features

The pump body of the LQB asphalt insulated pump is equipped with a hollow jacket and inlet/outlet flanges for heat-transfer media. Thermal oil, steam, hot water, or similar media can be used to heat, insulate, or cool the transferred liquid and the pump body.

This jacketed structure helps maintain the medium at a suitable temperature during transfer, improving flowability for materials that become viscous or solidify at normal temperature.

Operation Notes

Before the first startup after installation, check whether the valves on the inlet and outlet pipelines are open.

Confirm that the pump rotation direction is correct. Viewed from the motor side, the pump should rotate clockwise.

Observe whether the outlet pressure gauge reading is within the specified technical range.

During operation, check whether the pump has abnormal noise or overheating.

If leakage occurs at the seal, tighten the bolts or nuts on the seal gland evenly and slightly. Do not overtighten, as excessive compression may cause heat buildup and reduce the service life of the pump shaft and sealing ring.

If the transferred medium has excessively high viscosity, the pump may produce vibration, noise, or intermittent sound. The medium should be heated in time to reduce viscosity; otherwise, the pump bearings may be damaged.

After shutdown, cut off the power supply first, and then close the valve on the discharge pipeline to prevent reverse rotation of the pump.
