2W.W Twin-Screw Multiphase Pump

2W.W Twin-Screw Multiphase Pump

2W.W Twin-Screw Multiphase Pump

Short Description

The 2W.W twin-screw multiphase pump is designed for oil-gas mixed transfer and a wide range of industrial media. Key features include:

  • Multiphase Transfer: Suitable for oil, gas, water, and small amounts of fine solid particles in supported conditions.
  • Smooth Flow: Delivers liquid steadily with low pulsation, low agitation, low vibration, and low noise.
  • Strong Self-Priming: Supports gas-liquid mixed transfer with gas content up to 80% according to the source material.
  • External Bearings: Independently lubricated external bearings allow transfer of non-lubricating media.
  • Wide Media Range: Suitable for low-viscosity and high-viscosity liquids in oilfield, marine, petrochemical, power plant, and food processing applications.

The 2W.W twin-screw multiphase pump is developed for oil and gas mixed transfer applications. The series includes 2W.WH external-bearing double-suction twin-screw multiphase pumps and 2W.W series twin-screw pumps.

During operation, the driving screw and driven screw mesh with each other inside the pump body. Together with the clearance between the screws and the pump body bore, a series of sealed cavities are formed. As the screws rotate, these sealed cavities move continuously forward, pushing the medium inside the cavities toward the discharge port to complete the pumping process.

The pump provides smooth liquid transfer with low pulsation, low agitation, low vibration, and low noise. It has strong self-priming performance and can be used for multiphase transfer where the gas content is not higher than 80% and the sand content is not higher than 500 g/m³, according to the source material.

The 2W.W twin-screw multiphase pump adopts an external bearing structure with independent lubrication, allowing it to convey a variety of non-lubricating media. The timing gear drive keeps the two rotors from contacting each other, and short-term dry running is supported according to the source material.

The pump body can be equipped with a heating jacket, making it suitable for clean or slightly particle-containing low-viscosity and high-viscosity media. With proper material selection, the pump may also be used for many corrosive media. The double-suction structure helps eliminate axial force on the rotors. Shaft ends can use mechanical seals or bellows mechanical seals for broad application suitability.

Features & Advantages

  • Smooth Pumping Performance: Transfers media steadily with low pulsation, low agitation, low vibration, and low noise.
  • Multiphase Handling: Suitable for oil, gas, water, and fine solid particle mixtures under supported operating conditions.
  • Strong Self-Priming Capability: Supports gas-liquid mixed transfer with gas content up to 80%.
  • External Bearing Design: Independently lubricated external bearings allow the pump to handle non-lubricating media.
  • Non-Contacting Rotors: Timing gear drive prevents direct contact between the two rotors.
  • Double-Suction Structure: Reduces axial force on the rotors during operation.
  • Heating Jacket Option: Helps convey low-viscosity or high-viscosity media where temperature control is required.
  • Flexible Sealing Options: Shaft ends can use mechanical seals or bellows mechanical seals.

Typical Applications

The 2W.W twin-screw multiphase pump is used in oilfield, shipbuilding, petrochemical, thermal power plant, and food processing applications.

Common applications include:

  • Oilfields: Multiphase transfer of oil, gas, water, and small amounts of fine solid particles; crude oil transfer.
  • Shipbuilding: Marine loading pump, bilge stripping and wastewater handling, main engine lubrication pump, and fuel oil pump.
  • Petrochemical Industry: Loading and transfer of resin, pigment, paraffin, paint, ink, latex, various oils, crude oil, and heavy oil.
  • Thermal Power Plants: Heavy oil and crude oil transfer, and main engine lubricating oil service.
  • Food Processing: Transfer of alcohol, honey, syrup, juice, animal and vegetable oil, milk, and similar liquid media.

Performance Range

  • Maximum Working Pressure: 4.0 MPa
  • Flow Range: 1–1000 m³/h
  • Temperature Range: -20°C to 120°C
  • Viscosity Range: 1–3000 mm²/s
  • Viscosity with Reduced Speed: Up to 10⁶ mm²/s
  • Gas Content for Multiphase Transfer: Up to 80%
  • Sand Content for Multiphase Transfer: Up to 500 g/m³
  • General Particle Size: Usually less than 0.12–0.2 mm

Medium viscosity has a significant influence on twin-screw pump performance. The nominal displacement of the pump is based on specific viscosity conditions. To help the pump operate efficiently, pump selection should consider the actual medium viscosity, working temperature, speed, and operating conditions.
