2LB Twin-Screw Pump

2LB Twin-Screw Pump

2LB Twin-Screw Pump

Short Description

The 2LB twin-screw pump is designed for stable transfer of a wide range of clean or slightly particle-containing media. Key features include:

  • Smooth Transfer: Delivers liquid with low pulsation, low agitation, low vibration, and low noise.
  • Multiphase Capability: Supports oil, gas, water, and fine solid particle transfer under suitable conditions.
  • External Bearings: Independently lubricated external bearings allow transfer of non-lubricating media.
  • Heating Jacket Design: Suitable for low-viscosity and high-viscosity media that require temperature support.
  • Wide Applications: Used in oilfield, shipbuilding, petrochemical, thermal power plant, and food processing systems.

The 2LB twin-screw pump is designed for smooth and stable transfer of low-viscosity and high-viscosity media. It can be used for clean liquids or media containing small amounts of fine solid particles under suitable operating conditions.

The pump delivers liquid steadily with low pulsation, low agitation, low vibration, and low noise. It has strong self-priming performance and can support multiphase transfer when the gas content is not higher than 80% and the sand content is not higher than 500 g/m³, according to the source material.

The 2LB twin-screw pump adopts an external bearing structure with independent lubrication, allowing it to convey various non-lubricating media. The pump uses timing gear drive, so the two rotors do not contact each other during operation. Short-term dry running is supported according to the source material.

The pump body can be equipped with a heating jacket for conveying media that require temperature support. With proper material selection, the pump may also be used for many corrosive media. Its double-suction structure helps eliminate axial force on the rotors. Shaft ends can use mechanical seals or bellows mechanical seals for a wide range of applications.

Features & Advantages

  • Stable Liquid Delivery: Transfers liquid smoothly with low pulsation, low agitation, low vibration, and low noise.
  • Strong Self-Priming Capability: Supports multiphase transfer with gas content up to 80%.
  • Fine Particle Handling: Can handle media with sand content up to 500 g/m³ under suitable conditions.
  • External Bearing Design: Independently lubricated bearings allow transfer of non-lubricating liquids.
  • Non-Contacting Rotors: Timing gear drive prevents direct contact between the two rotors.
  • Heating Jacket Option: Supports transfer of low-viscosity or high-viscosity media that require heating.
  • Double-Suction Structure: Helps reduce axial force on the rotors.
  • Flexible Sealing Options: Shaft ends can use mechanical seals or bellows mechanical seals.

Typical Applications

The 2LB twin-screw pump is suitable for oilfield, marine, petrochemical, thermal power plant, and food processing applications.

Common applications include:

  • Oilfields: Multiphase transfer of oil, gas, water, and small amounts of fine solid particles; crude oil transfer.
  • Shipbuilding: Marine loading pump, bilge stripping and wastewater handling, main engine lubrication pump, and fuel oil pump.
  • Petrochemical Industry: Loading and transfer of resin, pigment, paraffin, paint, ink, latex, various oils, crude oil, and heavy oil.
  • Thermal Power Plants: Heavy oil and crude oil transfer, and main engine lubricating oil service.
  • Food Processing: Transfer of alcohol, honey, syrup, juice, animal and vegetable oil, milk, and similar liquid media.

Performance Range

  • Maximum Working Pressure: 4.0 MPa
  • Flow Range: 1–1000 m³/h
  • Temperature Range: -20°C to 120°C
  • Viscosity Range: 1–3000 mm²/s
  • Viscosity with Reduced Speed: Up to 10⁶ mm²/s
  • Gas Content for Multiphase Transfer: Up to 80%
  • Sand Content for Multiphase Transfer: Up to 500 g/m³
  • General Particle Size: Usually less than 0.12–0.2 mm

Medium viscosity has a significant influence on twin-screw pump performance. The nominal displacement of the pump is based on specific viscosity conditions. To help the pump operate efficiently, pump speed should be selected according to the actual viscosity and operating conditions.

Suggested Speed by Medium Viscosity

Medium Viscosity cSt Suggested Speed r/min
<400 1500
400–1200 1000
1200–3600 750

For higher-viscosity media, the suitable pump speed and drive motor power should be confirmed according to the actual working conditions.
