The 2CY series gear pump is mainly used in lubrication systems for various mechanical equipment to transfer lubricating oil. It is also suitable for oil transfer and pressure boosting applications in industrial systems.
According to the stated operating range, this pump is suitable for lubricating oil with viscosity below 10°E, approximately 75 cSt, and temperature below 80°C. For general oil transfer service, it is suitable for heavy oil, diesel oil, mechanical oil, and similar non-corrosive liquids with viscosity not greater than 100 mm²/s, temperature not higher than 120°C, and no hard particles or fibers.
For high-temperature applications, material selection should be confirmed according to actual test reports and operating requirements. For media with poor lubricity, beverages, low-corrosive water, or other special media, an integral stainless steel gear pump should be selected.
Structure & Configuration
The 2CY series gear pump consists of the pump body, gears, front and rear pump covers, bearings, shaft seal, and related components.
The pump body, front cover, and rear cover are normally made of gray cast iron. The gears are made of high-quality carbon steel. Copper or stainless steel materials can also be used according to customer requirements.
The inlet and outlet of the 2CY series gear pump use British pipe threads corresponding to the pump port size and are directly machined on the pump body. The pump and motor are connected by an elastic coupling and mounted on a common baseplate.
Safety Valve
The standard 2CY series gear pump is not supplied with an integrated safety valve. When protection against overpressure is required, users should install a suitable safety valve in the pipeline system.
The safety valve should be selected and installed according to the operating pressure, medium characteristics, and pipeline layout. This helps protect the pump and pipeline when abnormal pressure rise or discharge-side blockage occurs.
Bearings & Lubrication
The 2CY series gear pump normally uses DU bearings. Tin bronze bearings can be supplied according to customer requirements. Some related gear oil transfer pump models may be available with DU bearings, tin bronze bearings, or rolling bearings; the required bearing structure should be specified when ordering. If no bearing type is specified, the pump is normally supplied with the DU bearing structure.
The bearings are built into the pump and are lubricated by the transferred medium. When handling media with poor lubricity, bearing structure, pump material, and operating conditions should be confirmed before selection.
Shaft Seal Options
This series is available with three shaft-end sealing structures: framework oil seal, mechanical seal, and packing seal.
Framework oil seals are easy to maintain and replace, with a lower cost, but have a shorter service life. Nitrile rubber framework oil seals are suitable for working environments below 100°C. Fluororubber framework oil seals are suitable for working environments below 200°C.
Mechanical seals provide good sealing performance and longer service life, with a higher cost. The mechanical seal base is made of stainless steel. Depending on the medium, the rotating and stationary rings may be made of YG8 cemented carbide or YG8-graphite. The operating temperature is below 200°C.
Packing seals are used only for high-temperature oil pumps. They allow a small amount of leakage and require regular adjustment according to leakage conditions during operation. The operating temperature is below 250°C.
The required seal structure should be specified when ordering. If no seal type is specified, the pump is normally supplied with a nitrile rubber framework oil seal.
