The 2CY insulated gear pump is suitable for transferring lubricating oil or liquids with properties similar to lubricating oil. The medium should be non-corrosive and free of solid particles and fibers, with temperature not higher than 200°C and viscosity from 5 to 1500 cSt.
The pump can be used as a transfer pump or booster pump in oil delivery systems, as a fuel pump for delivery and pressurization in fuel systems, as a hydraulic power pump in hydraulic transmission systems, and as a lubricating oil pump in industrial equipment.
Structure & Working Features
This series gear pump mainly consists of gears, shaft, pump body, pump cover, bearing sleeves, shaft-end seal, and related components. The gears are nitrided for higher hardness and improved wear resistance. The gears and shaft operate in replaceable shaft sleeves, and internal lubrication is provided automatically by the transferred medium during pump operation.
Four bearing sleeves are installed in a floating arrangement inside the pump. They automatically adjust the end clearance according to working pressure, helping maintain stable pump pressure, low output flow pulsation, and good volumetric efficiency.
Viewed from the extended end of the main shaft toward the pump, the standard rotation direction is clockwise.
Working Principle
The 2CY insulated gear pump is a positive displacement pump. The driving gear, driven gear, pump body, and left and right pump covers form two enclosed spaces: the suction chamber and the discharge chamber.
When the gears rotate, the gear teeth gradually disengage in the suction chamber, causing the chamber volume to increase and form a vacuum. The liquid is drawn into the suction chamber and carried by the tooth spaces toward the discharge chamber. In the discharge chamber, the gear teeth mesh again, reducing the chamber volume and forcing the liquid out. This continuous gear rotation completes the oil transfer process.
Installation & Operation Notes
The pump unit should be installed on a horizontal concrete foundation and fixed with anchor bolts.
The coupling should be aligned coaxially. After installation, rotate the coupling by hand to confirm smooth operation without jamming before starting the pump.
The pump is not suitable for unclean oil. An oil filter should be installed at the inlet pipeline.
The pump is not supplied with a built-in valve. A suitable valve should be installed in the discharge pipeline to help maintain normal system operation.
Before startup, fully open the valves on the suction and discharge pipelines. Rotate the coupling to check for jamming or abnormal resistance before operation.
